![]() They do not consider the program to be malicious, dangerous or harmful. PUP means “potentially unwanted program” – Malwarebytes uses this classification to identify software that they believe a user may not want on their computer. Malwarebytes currently detects Auslogics BoostSpeed as a PUP. I have cancelled my subscription as the results, I find, are suspect, which is not good when relying on them for security.ĭear Disappointed, We are very sorry for the false positive you’ve encountered while using BoostSpeed. Traces in system files 134 - Red, and in applications files 383 - Green. The traffic lights appear to be for decoration only as they bear no relationship with the actual number of traces found. A traces scan and resolve in Protect always indicates some items as "skipped" No reason given, but a rescan advises "no traces found". Also, some of the results from scans are ambiguous or incorrect. I did bring this up with Auslogics 18 months/2 years ago and I was told they were working on that. A one off scan with Eset Internet Security will also flag Boostspeed as a PUP. I only run Boostspeed on demand to clear up my internet activity, and I run Malwarebytes as my real time anti virus program, and performing a periodic scan always flags Boostspeed as a PUP. It does the job in about a minute or so, which is perfectly adequate.īoostspeed does not sit comfortably with my AV products. The third is the free version of Registry Cleaner, which I run once a week. but I've only had to restore a few times so that's a minor inconvenience. The only minor complaint I have is that you have to restore an entire set of folders and files, even if you only need one. ![]() I use it once a week to backup my documents and e-mail to a USB drive and it is very efficient. I also have BitReplica, which they offer a free license for to any of their paid customers. I use this to defrag my primary HD every day and it makes a real difference. ![]() While the program's performance on my machine is a major reason for renewing, I also give them credit for allowing me to downgrade to the Pro version when an upgrade to Ultimate caused problems for me (and boy did they try real hard to solve the matter before agreeing to my suggestion to downgrade!). The one I use most is Disk Defrag, which I just renewed for another year. I have three Auslogics programs on my PC. Disk Defrag A, BitReplica B+, Registry Cleaner A. ![]()
